Three Hawks Named to YSCC All-Conference Team
In a ceremony that took place between semi-final games yesterday, three Hawks were named to the Yankee Small College Conference All-Conference Roster.
Cameron Early, Jack Sullivan and Caden Fontaine were honored as three of nine total selections to the roster.
"It's nice to get recognition, but no award can really spell out how much each of these guys mean to our program" said second year Head Coach Zack Robinson. "Sully and Font are captains for us, Cam was a transfer that took on a gigantic leadership role for our young players. All of these guys made major impacts outside of their outstanding numbers on the field."
Early, a first year Hawk, finished runner up in Player of the Year voting for the YSCC. His 6 home runs and 23 stolen bases both led the conference - as did his 5 triples and .600 Slugging Percentage.
Sullivan, the Hawk's primary Shortstop over the last two seasons, drove in 43 runs this season, which led the YSCC and is was fourth in the entire USCAA. His 46 hits also topped the conference leaderboards. He is the YCCC all time leader in RBI (64) and Extra Base Hits (25).
Fontaine, another second year player, finished third in the league in hits (41), second in RBI (31) and third in Stolen Bases (19). Defensively, Fontaine played four different positions throughout the year, being charged with just three miscues in 96 chances.
"I feel really fortunate to have been able to coach all of these guys," Robinson continued. "They set a standard for anyone who enters this program from now on. That's a high bar, and it's just how we want it."
The three All-Conference selections for the Hawks makes it five different players in two years to receive this award - Caden Petit and Maksim Masse were both selected to the team last season.
