Fall Baseball Recap
A productive and tightly packed fall came to an end for the Hawks on Sunday Morning with a 12-2 victory over visiting UMaine Fort Kent.
The Hawks end the year 13-5 (7-3 in Conference Play), winning 12 of their final 13 games.
The Hawks were led on the mound this Fall by third year James Erickson and first year Brady Batson. Each guy picked up 5 wins, with Erickson leading the conference in Innings Pitched (39) and Batson leading the way in ERA (1.25) and Strikeouts (39).
At the plate, it was a collective effort for the Hawks, who sport 4 of the top-5 RBI getters in the league and a team batting average of .277. The team's 76 Stolen Bases also lead the YSCC by 31.
Third Year Head Coach Zack Robinson had this to say about the team:
"I'm thrilled with the level of buy in we got from this group. This is the most parity we have seen in the conference in my three years here, and they navigated through a really difficult Fall season with a lot of success.
When you start so many Freshman, you're never sure how things are going to go. I think our upperclassman have done a really great job of stepping up as leaders and maintaining the standards that we believe in as a program. The fall is the easy part, though. Championships are won in May. The real work starts now."
