The YSCC announced Maksim Masse as the player of the week for April 8-14.
Maksim was instrumental in the Hawks? series victory over the CMCC Mustangs this weekend, throwing 5 innings of 1 run ball on the mound, and reaching base 11 of his 14 times to the plate (4-7, 2b, 3b, 7bb). He drove in 2 runs and came across to score 8 times, as the Hawks offense combined for 34 runs in 3 games against the conference rival.
"The recognition is well deserved," said coach Zack Robinson. "Mak is an ace on the mound, and he puts in competitive at bats every time he steps to the plate."
Maksim leads the Hawks in hitting this spring, batting .500 with a 1.274 OPS (on base + slugging percentage). Mak also leads the team in innings pitched (18) and is holding opponents to a meager .209 batting average against.
