Men's Soccer Season Recap
A season that saw the Hawks claim their first playoff appearance in program history came to a close on Saturday Night at Paul Smith's College, as the Hawks fell to the Bobcats by a score of 0-1 in the YSCC Men's Soccer Quarterfinals.
In a hard-fought match that saw end to end action, the Hawks were able to control the midfield for most of the game and create several scoring opportunities for their attacking players - tallying 12 shots (5 on goal) against PSC's stingy back line. Despite the opportunities, it was a 75th minute goal from PSC's Hyler Isham that turned out to be the only goal of the match, sending PSC to the Semi-Final next weekend against SMCC.
The Hawks finish their second season with a record of 4-6-1 and a 6th seed appearance in the YSCC tournament. Second Year Striker Kevin Paulino led the way this season for the Hawks with 7 points from goal contributions, while Second Year GK Ryen Royce started every conference match in net.
"I'm really proud of the way we played this season," said Coach Chris Melino. "It's tough to say goodbye to this group, they've laid the foundation for this program and will always hold a special place in our history. I'm excited to get back on the pitch next year and continue improving."
