Two Hawks Take Home Bronze at Yankee Conference Championships
Last weekend at the Yankee Small College Conference Championships, two York County Community College athletes showed that hard work and heart really do pay off.
Competing at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts, Tyler Davies and Ethan Kirkpatrick each earned a bronze medal in their events - and gave the Hawks plenty to cheer about.
Davies, who competed in the triple jump, hit a mark of 1.66 meters to secure third place. For him, it was the perfect ending to a season filled with small but steady improvements. "It feels awesome to bring a medal home," Davies said.
Meanwhile, over at the javelin runway, Kirkpatrick was locked in during his throw. His 39.01-meter toss not only earned him third place but also highlighted the effort he’s been putting in all year. "I got into the rhythm and it all came together. I’m just proud to have represented YCCC well."
The YSCC Championships bring together some of the best small college athletes in New England, and medals for both Davies and Kirkpatrick underscore the hard work it takes to stand on the podium.
Congratulations to Tyler, Ethan, and the entire Hawks Track and Field team on an outstanding season.
