Runnin' Monks Meet Recap

Track season is in full stride, as the York County Hawks Men's and Women's teams finish 10th and 12th in the first meet of the season.

For the women, Amy Stults took the conference lead in times for the 1500- and 5000-meter competitions, posting times of 5:51 and 21:15 respectively.

Amy wasn't alone in setting conference marks on the women's team, as fellow team captain Izze Gray followed suit in the discus (29.81m), shot put (9.19m) and the hammer throw (31.87m) - setting school records in each event as well.

Blair Martin rounded things off for the women, placing third in the women's long-jump competition and setting a school record of her own with a mark of 4.53 meters.

For the men, Blake Proctor and Michael Crosby had days to remember.

Blake set school records in shot put (9.58m), discus (28.23m) and the javelin throw (28.93m). With that last mark, Blake now sits atop the conference in the javelin throw competition.

The cherry on top for the Hawks was last year's USCAA National Invitational bronze medalist Michael Crosby's 1:00.66 time in the 400m hurdles. Michael took home first place in the event and now holds the conference lead in that event. "It was a little slower than I was hoping for," said Michael. "I'm not leaving this year without some gold."

Next up for the Hawks is the YSCC Conference Championships on April 20th at Eastern Connecticut State University.
